IMPRESSION
In this series I sought to create repeat patterns that had the overall look and visual mark of a painting, not a print. I found inspiration from the impressionist movement which sought to merely imply the mood of a setting rather than depict the actual scene. So often I am burdened with the act of realistically portraying something as it is in its truest form, but through this exploration I could focus on process, uplift the action of painting, and come out with a richer, more emotive final product.
